Last Sunday we wanted to go fishing at Seletar park, but it was raining non-stop.
We overate.

We decided to watch Fred Claus, not bad, bringing in the Xmas spirit hee.
Wanted to watch Enchanted, but not the right timing...

Watched Perfect Stranger on DVD yesterday. Interesting.

Moo
Remember my post about O giving me a surprise? I called it Mr Chow at first (coz that's what O said in his SMS that day, he said he met Mr Chow - later on he told me, if he said Mr Moo it's way too obvious, right?). Anyway, I called it Mr Moo.

And couple of days ago, he gave me another suprise! And I named them as follows:

Mini Moo and Super mini moo with Mr Moo

These are what O has done to Mr Moo over time

left - made it wore my robe. right - trapped among pillows & bolsters

Bellini Room @ St James Power Station
I'd been wanting to go to Bellini room ever since I read about it being a jazz bar.

But since we're not really hanging out at bars/pubs anymore, we hadn't done it till last Saturday.
(We only went to St James once, to Movida for the free party thingy.)
So, last Sat we finally decided to go to Bellini Room, went for dinner at Vivocity first. My favourite Sushi Tei hee hee

Had a cosmopolitan (promo, S$11) and a lychee martini (S$16.50 - with 2 lychees inside! - I wanted a Stella Artois but they dun sell that)

O had a Kilkenny (S$16.50) and a Corona (S$14.50).

We should've opted for a bottle of champagne coz it's on promo for S$69 nett.. but it'd be a tad too much though

a slightly different Friday
Yesterday was TBS volunteering day, so after lunch we went to SCWO (Singapore Council of Women's Organisations) to do some painting & gardening. I actually opted for Xmas decoration, but it turned out by Xmas decoration they meant to decorate a Xmas tree. Since there was a shortage of manpower for painting, I ended up doing panting.

We finished at about 5pm, and I was really messy (wore a short and TBS too-big T-shirt) and sticky, but I really need a hair job so I went to Raffles Place area as I remembered seeing a promo for color+highlight. The salon is called "Needs Salon" - what a name -
On the brochures it says S$98 for color+highlight+cut+treament (cheap kind). But I was talked into doing colour wax instead because almost half of my hair from root are black - too long didn't color - so it'd cost S$145, which is still cheaper compare to other salons. So, I said OK.

During coloring the hairstylist brought some Japan shampoo (S$32) & conditioner (S$28) - no way i'm spending so much for shampoo+conditioner - and kept going on about how good the product is, it's to prolong the color, etc.
Then just before washing, he said later he'd do the treatment for me (I asssumed it was the included treatment), then during washing he said that treatment was the best treament in that salon, usual price S$180 but give me S$40 off so it's only S$140. I said what, how much? isn't it included in the price? he said no that one is not a good one, kept asking me to do (heck, i usually won't even wanna spend S$50 on treatment), i insisted i didn't want.

Then after washing he asked me to do hair rescue thingy (3 steps, whatever), I said maybe next time.

Then before paying, he immediately pack the shampoo + conditioner and said it's S$205 and offered a package, count on calculator, said got S$100 off for member (if take package), blah blah blah so i have to pay S$595.
I said i wasn't interested, then i said i didn't wanna buy the shampoo. So I paid S$145.

OH, and i didn't even get the cheap treatment!
actually i realized this, coz after he cut (actually only trimmed) my hair he just blow dry, but i really couldn't wait to get out of the salon, i didn't even want to mention the treament

NO WAY i'm ever going back to that salon!

Oh and my hair color is now darker, highlight mahogany color. I find it a tad too dark. But I guess when my root grows, it won't be so obvious. Mahogany will fade to brown anyway..

O met me outside the salon, then we walked to find some dinner, and it was hard as I was very messy, didn't wanna go to posh places hahaha...
Finally found this Indian food called Shah alam restaurant - actually not a restaurant, just a normal coffee shop.

We ordered (from top left-right) sup tulang with bread (not nice, the meat really too little, soup not bad), chicken massala (very nice). O had 2 plain prata to eat with the chix. I had tissue prata. O had 2 ice Milo (thick Milo, but too sweet for me), I had teh halia (ginger tea - nice! strong ginger taste and not too sweet). Total S$14.80, quite cheap

Went home feeling really sticky, shower with cold water and after that i scrubbed all-over with TBS passion fruit body scrub, also scrub my foot/heels (with foot file). Feel so smooth and clean afterwards hahahaha...

Watched "Trust the Man" DVD, nice

Here's me just now, the color looks brown in the pic. hmm maybe coz got sunlight from bathroom window, and still damp after washing...

Oh I've noticed from Aussie trip pics that I had a balding spot where my parting is at, and the hairstylist also commented that I have hairloss problem, due to oily scalp.

Hmmm maybe I should use some shampoo for oily scalp & hairloss, thinking to buy Phyto product coz there was a review on Simply Her magz.

Xmas @ Orchard

It's really starting to feel very Xmas-y at Orchard.
I luv this year's decorations. BUT the ever so many constructions really spoil it :(
People are building condos everywhere plus new malls, expanding malls, mall below the hotel, etc. arrrgghhhh

oh AND, is it me or is it really getting too crowded in Sg???
I hardly ever get a seat in MRT anymore, EVER, morning/evening, peak/off peak, just NO SEAT.
Lakeside is only the 2nd stop!!
Sigh.

Happy 5th dating anniversary, babe :)
We went to Cafebiz at Traders Hotel on Tuesday (20 Nov) to celebrate our 5th dating anniversary (and because i had a one-for-one voucher from women's weekly magazine), which is today, but today's fully booked (maybe due to Thanksgiving?)

Ate there a couple of years ago, Tues was the 1st time after the not-so-recent renovation.
Hmmm food so-so only...

1st course of course sashimi! usually with cold seafood, i took lobsters only, didn't feel like eating mussels

was really hungry, wanted to have some soup but it wasn't exiciting, so i went for the cooked food. had some curry with toasted chapati (the cone-shaped one), and some roti (dunno which roti haha). totally mixed platter! have crackers and cheese, shark fin's dumpling, baked oyster

then i had a bite of creamy pasta (way too creamy), salmon & dory, lobsters again, a prawn & veggie

shared this foie gras with O (actually i only ate one small bite), our 1st time trying.. it tasted like duck's fat haha

there was a chef who walked around with meat on a stick thingy (brazilian style). shared this pork (nice) with O (again, i only had 1-2 bites) and before this we had pork ham (forgot to take pic), took 1 bite also, not nice.

err i dunno why i ate so little, more interested in desserts as always haha.. shared this with O

and these

and these

and fruits

more fruits

Oh it was S$49.90 nett for 2 with voucher. W/o voucher, I think it's a bit too steep for such a spread.

Photos from Iyus' visit
this is long due, blame it to my working over-time whole of last week hee hee..

we spent Saturday (10 Nov) with Iyus and her elder sis (who was never in any pic, she wasn't interested in taking pics like, AT ALL - ok, like, total 1-2 pics while we take like, A LOT)

O & I had lunch first before meeting them. O brought me to Teahouse - the Asian Kitchen at Raffles city shopping centre basement. Food not bad, luv the rock salt pork ribs (bottom right). The soupy thing is cabbage with salted egg and preserved egg (but the eggs were teeny lil' pieces, couldn't really taste them). Duck so-so, I think Crystal Jade's duck is nicer

Had Ben & Jerry's ice cream after that. Yummy! luv the coffee ice cream (with chocolate flakes). We chose a chocolate coated cones, which was a mistake coz it ended up being too sweet :( (coz i had chocolate ice cream - with brownies - as well)

Iyus had been to most shopping malls, so we went to National Museum of Singapore, i'd been wanting to go there, luv this kinda white building. Most of the things cost some S$10 or more, we couldn't be bothered to check. Just admire the building and took some pics

Went the Cathay and then to Taka, took pic with the Xmas tree! We then had dinner at Holland Village, after 1 big round, decided to settle at Hog's Breath cafe (finally tried it!!). O & I had the prime rib. Superb!

a day of strange events
bloody hell #2
we were all watching Transformers DVD at the living room (after lunch) and we heard cracking sound from our room, paused the movie and take a quick look and continue watching.
suddenly there was another cracking sound, this time it was longer and louder.
now the whole room's tiles popped-up!!! well not ALL, but in general the tiles are now uneven. have to walk carefully in the room.
gosh! we're so worried that it continues and affect the living room and other rooms.
we called the HDB 24-hour maintenance number and they told us we have to let HDB take action (they'd contact HDB for us).
I guess we have to wait until Monday then!!! I hope no more cracking tomorrow!!!!

~ok, the subject said 'events' but there're "only" two actually

just now we were again in the living room, i was wiping some of my shoes (that were so dusty coz i havent been wearing them for so long), the front door was opened but the gate close. a cat tried to go in! it went half-way passed the gate and i chased it out.
later on i was sitting on the sofa, the door now opened as mom was talking to some uncle who collects old newspaper, and the cat went in. it was fast so by the time we reacted, the cat was in mom's room!!
yos and O went in to chase it out. they took SO long coz it kept lying on the floor, or trying to go to opposite direction of the front door. gosh!

BLOODY HELL!!!!!!!!!!
O sent me an SMS this morning and told me that there was a loud cracking sound in our room, for a kinda long period. Very strange but I didn't really think of it as I haven't seen it.

Reached home after dinner (@Vil'age, Heeren), so hot and sticky, i went straight to on the fan, and ##&*$^*#&*$ my toe was cut by a part of a tile and it went in a bit, and my toe was bleeding quite a lot.

The tiles at one end of the room are now slunted upwards!!!!!!!!!! WTF

And not only worrying about tiles, I gotta see my fresh red blood keep pouring out while at the same time had to cut my skin and try to take out the piece of tile.

(erm OK, the cut is not THAT big but quite deep and the blood wasn't THAT much but really non-stop for a while).

Luckily I managed to get it out (3 small pieces!!!!! bloody hell).

And NOW i have to worry about the tiles.
I thought of calling HDB but mom said that's nothing to do with them, but with the contractor who renovated this flat after the owner bought it from HDB (we bought as resale flat from the owner). SHITTTTTTTTTT laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
1. no $$ to waste for this kinda crap
2. no place to stay if contractor has to re-do the tiles completely

AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

TOTALLY ruined the start of my weekend (and potentially my whole weekend)!!
I really need this weekend!!!! been working so hard :'(

busy week
been working late, until 8-9pm ~latest 9.15pm~ still never as bad as at you-know-where :p
diet goes haywire as I always eat more when I'm working late, otherwise the gastric starts acting up... AND no time to go gym this week (still went once last week).. argh.. Phuket trip is getting nearer!!!!! *sigh*

I think next week will be better, but once all the monthly deadlines are due, gonna work late again as I'm not used to do all these reports, gonna take donkey years to complete *double sigh*

However, I've started feeling better (was REALLY stressed)

I'm SO hungry

facebook
OK, so much for the 'i dun see the point creating a facebook account because i'd have the group same people listed as my friends on friendster' (I don't wanna make new friends, just wanna find long lost friends)
When Friendster was 1st popular and I've received a couple of invitations, I was simply not interested. Until I was so bored (actually I forgot the reason why) that I finally created it.

I've received Facebook invitations since ages ago, but I resisted until 2 days ago.

And well yeah I found some friends that aren't on friendster (or i just didn't find them then), and there're so many things can be done on facebook. I think I'm gonna be busy exploring for the next erm.. couple of weeks? That's if I have time after work! Gonna continue working late for a while, I guess.

Check this out
OK, I've been in Sg for almost 7.5 years and I've always known there are many things to do/places to explore yet we always do the same boring things week by week.

Since Iyus is here and I've run out of ideas of where to take her to, i've used google, and found this Time Out. Check it out!

Lewis (Meet the Robinsons)
On Thursday before we went out, we watched Meet the Robinsons DVD (I rented because Yos requested it some time ago). We found that Yos is TOTALLY like Lewis (pic below), a science nerd mwahahahaha. So when I see this at Mustafa Centre, I just HAD TO buy for him!

Now I knew why he wanted to watch the DVD haha science (and robotic) geek! He won a 5th place at Singapore robotic competition (dunno what's the official name of that competition) with his team (of 3 or something) and he was supposed to go to Taiwan with them, but he's OVER age!! haiz wat a waste

Deepavali with Iyus
Haha no, I didn't celebrate Deepavali with Iyus, but we went out her on Deepavali which was on Thursday.

She's been to most of the shopping malls, clarke quay, chinatown, etc. so she wanted to see Chinese Garden.

The one and only time I went there was during the lantern festival last year and it was in the evening, didn't really see much, not a good impression either. But, it turned out to be quite nice. I luv those Chinese building which looks exactly like in the gong-fu-type movies/series.

And there're these chinese zodiac statues.

After that, Iyus wanted to go to Mustafa Centre, so we went to Little India (alighted at Farrer Park station though, nearer to Mustafa). There were some decorations, maybe due to Deepavali, or it could be there all the time...?

Took bus to Rochor as O was craving for the Bak Kut teh at Rochor Centre, I only knew last nite that it was called Song Fa Bak Kut Teh, it opens Tue-Sun till 11pm (maybe from 10 or 11am, not sure). I ate there a few times during my previous job, brought O there once and he was totally hooked!

I think they increased the prices, and the food court is now called Kopitiam, I thought there was no brand previously. It's newly renovated. Oh and they dun sell you tiao anymore, dunno why. It wasn't on the menu so I asked the auntie and the answer was "wo men shi chi fan de" err duh? We (with ex-colleagues) used to always ordered you tiao what...

Anyway, we ate these below. Yummy!

Note to self: omigod, I'm really so fat now, have to lose weight before Phuket trip!!!!

I love O
I was really stressed at work this morning (till lunch time), felt like crying...

Sent an SMS to O and he immediately brighten up my day. Though his reply was very simple, I really felt much better. I guess I can feel he really cares and wants me to feel better :)

BBQ, vivo, cafe iguana
Err we didn't take a single photo during yesterday's BBQ, not sure why hahahaha..
Just plain lazy, I guess.
We ordered some food from EZB, and bought some from NTUC. The BBQ was supposed to be a belated birthday celebration for Tiok, Iyok, and O.

~~~~~
Today we went to morning mass because Iyus was coming at noon and meeting her at Vivocity.
This is at the Sky park, the black 'person' hanging behind can actually swing when the wind is blowing
this is an Osim miniature chair
our dinner at Cafe Iguana
you see the size of macho margarita (peach) :p
bought this at Daiso, supposed to be a plate rack for kitchen thingy, but i'm using it to hang my earrings hahaha
and this is a cute coaster, also from Daiso. There're 2 pcs in a pack. Will bring one to office
