| Self-drive? |
I don't know why all this while I've never considered hiring a car and self-drive rather than taking those day tour. I guess because (OK, i said above I dunno but I think I know) this will be the first time we go to Australia and I just feel that we should enjoy fully, driving will be tiring, right? (not that I'll do any driving, sorry O, can't help you :p). But now I'm starting to change my mind, seeing how cheap is the cost of hiring a car for example from Budget.
Last nite O said he doesn't mind driving. I actually told him I don't trust him (as in driving alone for hours in a country we've never visited before, will have to rely on maps - I know O can read map, I can't, but still... And it's quite scary if it's mountainous area, right??), I'm sorry O, didn't mean to be rude :p (he won't read my blog lar, anyhow write only, since he's still at work)
I don't have time to do more research, I guess will just do spontaneous decision then hahaLabels: travel plan |

| Pampering myself |

I have a manicure & pedicure package at Flaunt! nail salon, it used to be at mandarin shopping centre but recently moved to Grand plaza park royal hotel. I haven't been there... I wanted to go today but didn't make appointment, called in the afternoon but today was already fully-booked. I made appointment for tomorrow but at about 6pm decided to go today instead. So I searched Centrepoint website and decided to call Nail Palette (#03-15) and asked whether I could do manicure & pedicure there, would reach in about 10 minutes time. Luckily they had a slot for me.
For French tip, only add S$3, the silver line was included. Didn't wanna do a French pedicure coz it'd be a waste as I'll be wearing covered shoes everyday for the next 2 weeks...
Actually I still prefer the original French tip, which is white with beige base. It looks more elegant. But I feel like having this color this time. And of course, paid with O's supplementary card hee hee hee.
I feel that Nail Palette is better than Flaunt! The staff are all very friendly, we chit chat quite a lot (I dun usually chat with strangers, really!). Maybe I'll take a package when mine at Flaunt! is completed.
Oh here's the price list Manicure: S$20, express: S$10 Pedicure: S$30, express: S$20 (if i remember correctly) French: add S$3
Package: 6 manicure + 2 FOC spa: S$100 6 pedicure + 2 FOC spa: S$150Labels: beauty, just mira |

Sigh, not gonna be able to watch it! The performance list seems really nice & promising! Plus Channel 5 has been showing bits and pieces of their rehearsals.
Err but no sigh coz it's due to our flight to Melbourne that we(I) can't watch. Plus, Channel 5 will definitely show it again some time later....Labels: random, Singapore |

| A nothing-much Sunday |
Managed to wake up earlier to see doctor before mass. Not Dr.Sim though, but I thought it's OK since the medical record is there. Was given anti-biotics and 2 other medicine for the phelgm. Ate late breakfast at Kopi & Roti, took pics with phone, haven't uploaded :p After mass (only O & I, the rest went to AMK church becoz mom is a new fan of Father Stephen Yim haha) we ate at Swensen's. I only had the clam chowder breadbowl and only ate 30% of the bread, not nice.. O had chicken baked rice. I didn't take pic..
Went home and watched The Third Wheel DVD, not bad. Slept a bit, then ate mom's cooking for dinner.
Finally managed to start packing, and actually finished packing our main luggage! Wow!

| Suffering on Saturday |
So, woke up at bloody 7am on Saturday morning so that I could reach the warehouse (at the other end of Singaproe) at 8.30am. I reached at 8.16am btw. Had McD breakfast delivered, started counting stock at 9am. Had lunch at about 1pm. Started counting again. All the while my running nose was getting worse. I think it's the air-con, dust, and sometime sweating made it worse. It was 5pm and we were not done. The actual counting were done, but it was the test-checkers that were not done. Forklift ran out of battery and must be charged for 1-hour. My body really couldn't take it, I was wearing long-sleeves jacket and was shivering! Me! Shivering! So, I left.
Reached home with S$1 left in the wallet (after the 2-way expensive taxi ride). Got a bit of motion sickness, hungry, and home alone with no money!!!!! Luckily there's mocha truffle snow skin mooncakes in the fridge! (the one that O ordered dark choc one and somehow the order was wrong and they gave him the mocha one). They're super yummy! I wonder why the champagne truffle one is their best-selling? This is so much yummier!
Anyway, O finally came home, we watched Men in White DVD, not bad. Then we ate chicken chop downstairs.
No energy to pack luggage. My running nose was really bad, the mucus was actually yellow and even green sometimes! Oh before I left the warehouse, I thought I wanna go see doctor again (for the 3rd time), but the clinic is only opened until 1pm on Saturdays.. So I said Sunday before church then...Labels: movie / DVD, sick, the body shop, weekend/holiday |

| Dinner at Marche Vivocity |
mirAndo's dessert
So, last Friday ex-TTSPLians (Brenda left but temping 3x a week just to help out, until end Sep) were supposed to have dinner together but only 4 of us plus Adrian & Orlando were there. They went to some KTV pub afterwards, but we didn't join as I'm still sick and gotta go warehouse stock-take the next day. Jo, Brenda & I were early (on time) and the rest were late. We shared calamari, mushroom, grilled chicken breast with mashed potato, and soft-shell crab (well I ate a small piece of it, much prefer my calamari). We were too hungry I forgot to take photo of them. They were supposed to be appetizers but we were full. Marche didn't have the waffle so we had the crepes. O & I shared the custard crepes with passion fruit & mango ice cream (sherbet, not nice, too sour). That brown thing is caramel sauce. The almond slices and choco chip and caramel sauce are free toppings, DIY. Labels: food, weekend/holiday |

| Mooncakes |
O bought a box of famous Raffles Hotel's champagne truffle snow skin moon last week (and we already finished them). Can't find the pic of the nice blue box on the net, too lazy to take pic and d/l and upload. Anyway, it was nice. He ordered another box, the dark chocolate one. Should be getting it tomorrow/Thu, I think.
Uncle was on 1-day biz trip to Sg (again), he gave us 3 boxes of lotus double egg-yolk mooncakes! Goodness.
~~~~~ I was (still am?) very angry over something just now, and strangely my heartbeat is still very fast until now. It feels terrible. But well, I've never been THAT angry in a long long time.Labels: random |
| Cameron Highlands? |
Sis said mom isn't going to Jkt this Xmas/NY due to Yos looking for sec school. So, she suggested that we go somewhere for a short break. Cameron highlands. Well, it should be much better than the nothing-much-at-all-Fraser's-Hill. But the coach-fare is quite a turn-off, about more than S$100 return/pax. We went through a lot during our Fraser's Hill's trip, but that was w/o mom & yos haha. It'll definitely be cheaper if we buy coach ticket to KL and then buy from Pudu, BUT as we're planning for Xmas/NY (most prob NY), dun dare to gamble!
Most likely we'll choose Strawberry Park Resorts because it has a 3-bedroom-apartment/suite & it's more affordable than hotels.
Hmm not sure whether 31 Dec will be my company's holiday, I think it was, last year (or was it the 24th Dec, or both).
It's super-peak so must really plan in advance this time, can't do last minute again like the last year's (or 2 years ago??) Easter's Genting trip haha. Must bug O to apply for leave again, even though it's only for one day. ONE DAY.
| Saturday at home... |
Finally, O is not working today. We had lunch & dinner together yesterday. Gonna have lunch with O again on Monday. Yippeeee!!!
We're waiting for our dinner now, ordered Rite pizza for the 1st time. It's supposed to be thin kind, and much better than canadian pizza & pizza hut (according to some food blog).
Since I'm still sick, we didn't go out the whole day >.< Watched DVDs:
- Be with you - Japanese movie, sad sad movie.
- Unaccompanied minors - comedy, xmas time
There's one more at our mailbox, I think another Japanese or Korean movie, haven't collected it, to lazy to go down hahahahaLabels: movie / DVD, weekend/holiday |
oh, i suddenly remember, yesterday mama said she met her friend recently (from Makassar) and they asked whether both of us (me & jie jie) are already pregnant or not. (mira: *gasp* - erm pretentiously only lar, it's THE question, as usual*), but we did say "omigod, so kaypoh" when mama was telling us hahaha.
mama answered that she doesn't really bother us, not a big deal whether we are already or not yet. the friend said 'wow, you're such a modern mom'
erm for the record, in Makassar, usually you have to be immediately pregnant once you're married, otherwise people will start talking. ew.Labels: baby |
| My reads - novels by Kimberly Llewellyn |
Tulle Little, Tulle Late It's not bad enough her cousin's stealing her thunder. She's also stealing her dress. Who doesn't love a wedding? Nina Robertson sure doesn't, since the wedding in question is that of her hyper-competitive, catty cousin Celia. And Nina's own engagement hit the brakes (and then went over a cliff) not too long ago. And the bitter icing on the cake? Celia will be wearing Nina's dream dress. Meanwhile, Nina's no-good ex is conducting a shock-and-awe campaign on her social life. And an underhanded co-worker, along with a notoriously difficult movie star, are making her public-relations job a nightmare. Although Nina might not be headed down the aisle, she's definitely headed downhill.
This is my 2nd day reading it and it's already half-way! Next will be this below, Sofi's borrowing it now
The Quest for the Holy Veil Small-time actress Lucy Ladelle needs some cash. So when a matchmaking service hires her as date bait, she jumps at the chance. She'll meet a few men, flatter their egos, and have them sign on as clients. It's sort of like an acting job...and it's only temporary, right? But Lucy's first "date" goes down the tubes when she's caught on tape by a sting-operation TV exposŽ, and her name-and fetching new sandals-are dragged through the mud. Then, she meets a larger-than-life woman who offers her a chance to audition for a Broadway show. Of course, the offer comes with a price. And before she knows it Lucy is juggling a surprising romance and the chance of a lifetime. |
i helped grandma bake so many cakes and cookies when i was in primary school. never helped cooking though, dunno why. i only ever bake 1 thing by myself (erm, with a lil' help from 1 maid - or was it 2), custard puff. It wasn't really successful, although not bad. that was years ago. there's never an oven in sg....
i've been visiting so many food blogs. some are with simple recipes. but i dun feel like cooking. i wanna bake, but no oven. thus, i think i have to start with no-bake thingy (like cheese cake or tiramisu), or steamed thingy. hmm.Labels: random |
| i can't stand people who stand very near to the train door while they're alighting yet. i have tolerance for people who look like tourists for they might not know at which stations majority of people will alight. but not for working people whom must have boarded the train at roughly the same time every single day. STUPID PEOPLE!!!!!!!!! a lot of them only board the train at city hall or dhoby ghaut and NOT alighting at somerset, but they simply love to block the way. hmppphhhhhh Labels: Singapore |
